Testimonials

Doug Murphy, Director, Maudsland Tilted, The Doug Murphy Group

We engaged Grummitt Planning for several reasons:

One, in an increasingly complex town planning approvals environment, multi disciplinary skills are increasingly important. One application of this is land development in sloping areas. Noel Grummitt's combination of engineering and town planning (qualifications, skills  and experience), is a valuable and powerful combination in making assessments (identifying problems and possible solutions such as at feasibility stage) for continuing communication and ease of understanding.

Second, we prefer to deal with the principal of a smaller firm; then we are dealing with a motivated and readily accessible consultant. We can work closely together on a collaborative basis and I think this is the most  creative and efficient way to achieve best outcomes.
Third, Noel Grummitt has depth to his knowledge of planning legislation, the Schemes and associated documents.

Fourth, it is a pleasure to work with Noel; always accessible, courteous and helpful. All we could reasonably ask and expect of a good consultant. We value our working relationship.

Norm Steere, Executive Manager, Multicultal Communities Council Gold Coast

Having received exceptional service from the Grummitt Planning team to successfully negotiate a difficult Material Change of Use application through Gold Coast City Council, I am very happy to provide this testimonial.

The Multicultural Communities Council Gold Coast Inc. (formerly the Ethnic Communities Council Gold Coast) was established in 1983 by a group of volunteers and representatives from various ethnic communities, clubs and associations in response to the growing number of migrants, new arrivals and refugees, especially those from non English speaking backgrounds It was identified that their needs were not adequately being met by the main stream primarily Brisbane based services. The organisation was incorporated in 1986 with the charter of ensuring people from culturally and linguisticallydiverse backgrounds have equal access to appropriate services for their health and wellbeing.

One of the main strategic objectives of MCCGC has been to acquire our own property that will accommodate our administrative and community care function. This long held objective has proven extremely difficult to achieve due to significant town planning and compliance issues. MCCGC engaged the services of Grummitt Planning to help navigate the very complex process of acquiring a suitable property that would not only meet our needs but be compliant with town planning guidelines. The significant challenge for us was that our purpose of use did not neatly fit in to the town planning scheme.

Noel and his team were very generous with their time and sharing their expertise. Noel was instrumental in providing advice and guidance to the Management Committee and operational staff which was very helpful in determining what we should consider when purchasing a property. Noel also facilitated a pre lodgement process with GCCC town planning which proved crucial in the final outcome.

Subsequent to the pre lodgement meeting and further advice from Noel, MCCGC entered an agreement to purchase a property in Ashmore having completed a very thorough Due Diligence process. This purchase necessitated a Material Change of Use application seeking approval to operate a community care centre from this premesis. The Grummitt Planning Team was exemplary in preparing the Material Change of Use application and linking MCCGC with the necessary consultants to facilitate this process. Ultimately this application was processed through council and approved ahead of expectation.

I have no hesitation recommending Noel and the Grummitt Planning team to any client needing efficient, expert and considerate support when dealing with town planning issues.
